Director KP Sasi passes away


Thrissur: Film and documentary director and Human Rights activist KP Sasi passed away here on Sunday. He was 64. According to reports, he breathed his last while undergoing treatment at a private hospital here.

His funeral will be held on Monday at 12 pm in Paramekkavu crematorium.

KP Sasi is the son of famous writer and Communist thinker K Damodaran.

He bagged a national award for best director with ‘Ilayum Mullum’ released in 1994.

He is also popular for his remarkable contributions to Kerala’s documentary sector. His documentaries discussed social issues.‘Resisting Coastal Invasion’, ‘America America’, ‘Living in Fear’, ‘Development at Gunpoint’ and ‘Fabricated’ are his major documentaries.
