Thiruvananthapuram: The family of director Balachandra Kumar, who is currently battling severe kidney failure, has sought financial aid through crowdfunding for his treatment. Kumar has been admitted to Sree Uthradom Thirunal Hospital in Thiruvananthapuram and is in need of Rs 20 lakh for kidney transplantation.
Taking to Facebook, director Prakash Bare also appealed to users and wrote, “Balachandrakumar, the whistleblower and the prime witness in the actress attack case, is fighting for his life. His wife has started crowdfunding. It's now our turn to support him.”
He also shared the link of a crowdfunding platform to source funds for the surgery. As per reports, Balachandra Kumar’s family is going through a financial crisis and is unable to find money for treatment. The director was reportedly the only breadwinner of the family.
