Actor Sreenivasan, at a gathering, shared the story behind the names of his children, Vineeth and Dhyan, revealing that his love for sports played a considerable role in the naming process! 

Sreenivasan spoke about his early passion for sports, particularly cricket, during his childhood. "I have two children, Vineeth and Dhyan. When I was younger, I was very passionate about sports, with cricket being my biggest interest. My relative and friend, Divakaran, was often referred to as 'Pataudi Divakaran' by people. Mansoor Ali Khan Pataudi was India's cricket captain in those years. Back then, we had no television. The only way to follow the game was through running commentary on the radio. Divakaran would always have a radio with him, and that’s where the name came from. It’s a memory from a bygone era," he said.

Reflecting on his own journey in sports, Sreenivasan recalled his time playing hockey during his school years. "When I was in high school, I played hockey for a while. At that time, I followed sports news regularly. It was when India was winning Olympic medals in hockey. One of the prominent hockey players of that time was Vineet Kumar. When I had my first son, I named him Vineeth, dropping the second name Kumar. My second son was named after the legendary hockey player, Dhyan Chand," he added.

Sreeinivasan, along with his son Dhyan, was speaking at a harvest festival event held at the Udayamperoor Gram Panchayat in Ernakulam. During their conversation, Dhyan remarked that they were fortunate to have a field near their home to wake up to.

Srinivasan, with a light-hearted remark, said, "Although he may not look like my son at first glance, he is indeed my son," drawing laughter from the audience.
