The song's viral success in India, amplified by its inclusion in the film "Dhurandhar," highlights the growing global appeal of Khaleeji music.

Bahraini rapper Flipperachi has officially entered the Guinness World Records this Saturday, January 31, after his viral track “Fa9la” achieved an unprecedented sweep of the Billboard Arabia charts.
The song, which gained massive international momentum following its inclusion in the Bollywood blockbuster Dhurandhar, now holds the record for the most Billboard Arabia charts topped at No. 1 by a single song. The track has dominated four major categories simultaneously: the Hot 100 Songs, Top 100 Artists, Top 50 Khaleeji, and Top 50 Arabic Hip Hop.
A Cross-Cultural Phenomenon
Born Hussam Aseem, the 36-year-old artist has become a household name in India, where the track went viral alongside Akshaye Khanna’s now-iconic entry sequence in the film. Despite being performed entirely in Arabic, the song’s raw energy and hypnotic beat sparked a social media explosion, inspiring millions of reels, dance clips, and memes across Hindi-speaking regions.
"Guinness World Records, Habibi. It feels amazing," Flipperachi said in a video statement released today while surprised during a photoshoot. "It became popular in a language [Hindi] that it wasn't even sung in. It just saw an explosion, and I am so thrilled to top four charts at once."
The Path to Dhurandhar
The track’s journey to the global stage was facilitated by Dhurandhar composer Shashwat Sachdev, who introduced the 2024 regional hit to the film’s production team. Flipperachi revealed that while the filmmakers initially considered creating a Hindi version, they ultimately decided to retain the original Arabic vocals to preserve the track's authentic "vibe"—a move that industry experts say was critical to its cross-border appeal.
Legacy and Future Projects
A pioneer of the Arabic hip-hop scene for over a decade, Flipperachi’s record-breaking achievement underscores the growing global influence of Khaleeji music. Following the success of Dhurandhar, which released in theatres on December 5, 2025, and is currently streaming on Netflix, the rapper has hinted at a potential return for the film’s sequel.
Flipperachi is currently preparing for his debut India concert tour, which is expected to kick off in Bengaluru later this year, capitalising on his newfound status as one of India's most searched international artists.
