The spy-thriller phenomenon Dhurandhar: The Revenge is currently decimating the box office, but the biggest buzz isn't just about its theatre run- it's about a massive platform shift. If you were expecting to watch the sequel on Netflix like the first part, you'll have to change your subscription.

In a strategic move that has stunned the industry, the digital rights for Dhurandhar 2 have been snapped up by JioHotstar. Reports suggest the deal is worth a staggering ₹150 crore, nearly double what the original film fetched.

While Netflix was reportedly in the running to acquire both installments as a bundle, Jio Studios opted for this high-value standalone deal, a partnership that was teased as early as the first trailer, where the JioHotstar logo was prominently featured.

Dhurandhar 2 OTT release date, box office collection

The film is currently on an unstoppable "rampage." After grossing over ₹100 crore on Day 1, it maintained a fierce grip on Day 2, earning ₹80.72 crore at the India net box office. This takes its two-day total to approximately ₹226.27 crore, putting it in direct competition with the opening weekend records of Pushpa 2.

On its second day alone, the Aditya Dhar directorial shattered the benchmarks of heavyweights like KGF: Chapter 2 and Pushpa 2. With the Tamil and Telugu versions finally hitting screens today (Saturday) after minor technical delays, the collection is expected to skyrocket even further. This unprecedented momentum is the primary reason the OTT release might be pushed back.

When and where to watch Dhurandhar: The Revenge online

While there is no official confirmation from the makers yet, industry standards provide a clear timeline. Typically, a blockbuster of this scale follows an 8-week theatrical window. According to reports cited by Pinkvilla and India Today, the film is expected to land on JioHotstar between 45 to 60 days post-release.

Given its March 19 theatrical debut, the streaming window is projected for the second week of June 2026. However, if the film continues its historic run and crosses the ₹1000 crore global mark as predicted, the makers and the platform may decide to hold the digital premiere until late June to maximise ticket sales.

The film stars Ranveer Singh in what is being called a career-best performance as undercover agent Hamza, alongside a powerhouse cast including R. Madhavan, Sanjay Dutt, and Arjun Rampal.
