Kochi: Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan had a chance meeting with veteran Malayalam actor Jagathy Sreekumar on Saturday aboard an IndiGo flight during his journey to Ernakulam.

Sharing a photo of the encounter on Facebook, the Chief Minister wrote, “Met the exceptional actor of Malayalam cinema, Jagathy Sreekumar, during my journey to Ernakulam. Enquired about his well-being.”

The brief in-flight interaction has since garnered attention on social media.

Jagathy, who suffered serious injuries in a car accident in 2012, has not fully recovered from the resulting health complications. Following the accident, he had taken a complete break from acting. However, he made a brief return to the screen in 2022 with the film CBI 5: The Brain.

The actor is also part of the upcoming film Vala, directed by Arun Chandu of Gaganachari fame, and portrays the character of Professor Ambili, popularly known as Uncle Lunar.
