
New Delhi: Chiyaan Vikram's film Thangalaan will make its debut in North India with a Hindi version arriving in theatres on August 30, the filmmakers announced on Saturday. Directed by renowned filmmaker Pa Ranjith, the Tamil drama is set in the 19th century at the Kolar gold mines in Karnataka.
The movie had its initial release in Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, and Malayalam on August 15. Studio Green, the production company, shared the news of the Hindi release on Instagram, featuring a new poster with Vikram. The text on it read, "North India Release 30th August."

The film also features Malavika Mohanan, Parvathy Thiruvothu, and Hollywood actor Daniel Caltagirone in key roles, with music composed by GV Prakash. Thangalaan is inspired by a real historical event that took place at the Kolar Gold Factory during British rule in India.
