A romantic moment, a few dialogues and even scenes featuring alcohol have all come under the scanner ahead of Spider-Man: Brand New Day's release in India. The CBFC has certified the Tom Holland-starrer with a UA 13+ rating after directing the filmmakers to make three specific changes before it reaches theatres.

The revisions relate to visuals, language and statutory messaging.

One of the most notable changes involves a romantic kissing sequence, with the board asking for 8 seconds of the scene to be removed.

Apart from the visual edit, the CBFC also instructed the makers to mute and remove certain objectionable words from both the film's audio and subtitles. These changes were made at three different points in the film, with one edit in the first half and two after the interval.

The board further directed the makers to include a static anti-liquor warning during scenes showing alcohol consumption, in keeping with certification guidelines followed for theatrical releases in India.

Once the requested changes were completed, ‘Spider-Man: Brand New Day’ was officially cleared for release. The film received its censor certificate on July 23.

The CBFC certificate also reveals that the film has a runtime of 144.52 minutes, taking its total duration to approximately 2 hours, 24 minutes and 52 seconds.

Directed by Destin Daniel Cretton, ‘Spider-Man: Brand New Day’ continues Peter Parker's story four years after the events of ‘Spider-Man: No Way Home’ (2021).

The official synopsis reads: "It's a brand new day for Peter Parker. Fighting crime full-time as Spider-Man in a world that doesn't remember him."

The film marks the return of Tom Holland as Peter Parker/Spider-Man, alongside Zendaya as MJ and Jacob Batalon as Ned Leeds.

The new instalment also expands the Marvel line-up with Jon Bernthal returning as Frank Castle/The Punisher and Mark Ruffalo reprising his role as Bruce Banner/Hulk.

Sadie Sink has also joined the cast, although details about her character are still being kept under wraps.

‘Spider-Man: Brand New Day’ is scheduled to release in India on July 30. The film will be available in English, Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada and Malayalam.
