Dulquer’s seized vehicle returned with conditions — must remain accessible for probe, not to be taken out.

The Land Rover Defender belonging to actor Dulquer Salmaan, which was seized by the Customs Department as part of Operation Numkhor, has been released. Given that the investigation is still ongoing, the Additional Commissioner of Customs decided to release the vehicle under strict conditions.
It was instructed that the vehicle must not be taken outside without prior approval.
Dulquer has also been directed to make the vehicle available whenever required for further inquiry.
Dulquer had approached the High Court requesting the release of the vehicle, claiming that it was purchased through legal means. The latest action by Customs follows the High Court’s direction to consider and take a decision on Dulquer’s plea within a week.
The car was initially seized as part of the crackdown on luxury vehicles imported from Bhutan through tax evasion. Dulquer reportedly submitted all documents related to the import of the vehicle, which had originally been brought into India in 2004.
The conditional return comes amid ongoing scrutiny related to the case.
