Actress Fatima Sana Shaikh recently opened up about a traumatic experience where she was physically assaulted after confronting a man who had touched her inappropriately in public.
In a candid interview with Hauterrfly, she recounted the incident that changed the way she handles such situations even today.
“Once, a man had touched me inappropriately, and I hit him. But he hit me back so hard that I was fully down," Fatima revealed. “I only hit him because he touched me, but that pissed him off, and he hit me to the point that I fell."
The Dangal star said that after the incident, she became more cautious and realised the importance of being mindful about how to respond in such situations. Fatima also shared another distressing episode during the COVID-19 pandemic in Mumbai.
“During the COVID-19 lockdown, I was riding my bicycle in Mumbai wearing a mask, and there was this tempo driver who kept honking and making weird sounds at me. And till the time I didn’t take a turn in my lane, he kept following me," she recalled.
On the professional front, Fatima was recently seen in Metro… In Dino, directed by Anurag Basu and starring opposite Ali Fazal. The film received acclaim for its emotional storytelling and depth. Her latest release, Aap Jaisa Koi, premiered on Netflix this past Friday.
