Arbaaz Khan joins the list of Bollywood actors embracing fatherhood in their 50s.

While conventional wisdom often encourages early parenthood due to age-related fertility concerns, several Bollywood actors have shown that fatherhood has no expiration date. Defying timelines and societal expectations, many stars from the Hindi film industry have chosen to become fathers well into their 50s. The latest to join this growing list is Arbaaz Khan, who is all set to welcome his first child with his wife Sshura Khan. In this story, we take a look at other actors who became fathers in their 50s, long before Arbaaz.
Saif Ali Khan
The Nawab of Bollywood, Saif Ali Khan, was barely 25 years old when his daughter Sara Ali Khan was born, and a few years later, he once again welcomed Ibrahim Ali Khan in his 30s. Later, after his second marriage to Kareena Kapoor Khan, Saif once again became a father to his and Kareena’s first son, Taimur Ali Khan, at the age of 46. And when their younger son, Jehangir, was born, Saif was already 50 years old. Saif embraced fatherhood every decade from his 20s to his 50s. The ‘Devara’ actor is a proud father of four children, two from his previous marriage with Amrita Singh, and two with Kareena.
Prabhu Deva
Fondly known as the Michael Jackson of India, Prabhu Deva is a father of four kids. He has three children from his previous marriage. However, he reportedly lost his eldest son in 2008 due to cancer, at the age of 13. He became a father for the fourth time in June 2023, when he welcomed his first child, a baby daughter, with Himani Singh, his second wife. The actor-filmmaker was 50 years old at that time. The two got married in 2020.
Sanjay Dutt
Sanjay Dutt was in his early 50s when he welcomed his twin kids - Shahraan and Iqra - with his third wife, Manyata Dutt. His adorable kids, who turned 14 last year in October, reside in Dubai along with their mother. The family often posts adorable pictures of their fun time on social media. The 65-year-old actor, who was recently seen playing a cop’s role in ‘Housefull 5’, also has a daughter, Trishala Dutt, from his first marriage with Richa Sharma. Trishala stays in the United States of America with her maternal grandparents.
Prakash Raj
Known for his acclaimed work in the South Indian and Hindi film industries, Prakash Raj got married to choreographer Pony Verma in the year 2010. It was his second marriage after getting a divorce from his former wife, Lalitha Kumari, whom he married in 1994. Prakash and Pony welcomed their son, Vedanth, in 2015, five years after their marriage. Prakash was 50 years old at that time.
