Kanikka Kapur's latest look from ‘Batwara 1947’ has become a talking point online after the makers released a new character poster.

After the makers unveiled a new character poster featuring Kanikka Kapur alongside Karan Deol, many social media users were convinced they were looking at Kiara Advani.

The poster features Kanikka in a floral salwar suit with minimal makeup and slightly tousled hair. Her understated look immediately reminded several viewers of Kiara Advani's appearance as Dimple Cheema in ‘Shershaah’. Before long, the comments section was filled with comparisons between the two actresses.

Some users even questioned whether artificial intelligence had been used while designing the poster.

One comment read, "Is this AI ...? For a movie from Aamir Khan's production house?"

Another user wrote, "I really thought it was Kiara Advani on the poster."

Several others echoed the same reaction.

"It's an AI poster; that's why she looks like Kiara. Bloody how lazy this industry has become, it's so shameful," one person commented.

Another asked, "So you are telling me she's not Kiara?"

A different user wrote, "She exactly looks like Kiara Advani."

Another comment read, "For a second I assumed it's Kiara Advani."

Some viewers also felt AI had altered the appearance of both actors in the poster.

"AI se Kiara Advani ban gaya, even Karan Deol face also changed…" one user wrote.

Another added, "The amount of AI has been used in this poster... morphed her into Kiara. Creativity is dead. They can't survive without AI."

There is no official confirmation from the makers that AI was used in creating the poster.

While the comparisons have sparked conversation online, ‘Batwara 1947’ marks an important milestone for Kanikka Kapur, as it is her Bollywood debut.

The actress was previously seen in the psychological thriller Murderabad (2025) and is also known for television shows such as ‘Ek Duje Ke Vaaste 2’, along with projects including ‘Tippu’, ‘Dono Modern Parivar’ and ‘A Gift of Love: Sifar’.

Directed by Rajkumar Santoshi, Batwara 1947 is based on Asghar Wajahat's acclaimed 1989 play ‘Jis Lahore Nai Vekhya, O Jamya E Nai’. The period drama stars Sunny Deol, Preity Zinta, Shabana Azmi, Ali Fazal, Abhimanyu Singh, Karan Deol and Kanikka Kapur, and is scheduled to release in theatres on August 14.
