Sunny Deol's Batwara 1947 has received its first notable review and the early word is strongly positive. After attending a special screening, producer Ramesh Taurani praised Rajkumar Santoshi's Partition drama for its emotional depth, sensitive storytelling and focus on humanity.

Taurani described Batwara 1947 as a deeply moving film that highlights the resilience of people during one of the darkest chapters in India's history. He also praised the film's emphasis on compassion and humanity amid violence and displacement.

Sunny Deol emerged as a major highlight in the early review. Taurani described his performance as "terrific" and "deeply impactful", adding to the anticipation around the actor's return in a period drama rooted in the Partition of 1947.

Preity Zinta also received special mention. Taurani expressed his delight at seeing the actor back on the big screen and praised her performance in the film.

Shabana Azmi, Ali Fazal and Karan Deol were described as "exceptional" in their respective roles, with Taurani highlighting the depth, intensity and authenticity they bring to the story. Abhimanyu Singh was also praised for his portrayal of the antagonist, which the review described as compelling and unsettling.
