Actor and director Basil Joseph has revealed that he was initially approached to play a role in the Malayalam blockbuster ‘Loka: Chapter One – Chandra’. The filmmaker behind the hit superhero movie, Dominic Arun, had personally narrated the story to him. However, due to other commitments, Basil had to decline the offer -- a decision he now regrets.

Basil shared this during an informal interaction with players of the Kochi Blue Tigers, a team in the Kerala Cricket League. When one of the players asked if he was part of Loka, Basil candidly responded:

“There was a role for me in Loka. But I didn’t do it. Someone else did. Now I regret it. It was a big role. Dominic had narrated the story. I couldn’t do it due to some other reasons.”

‘Loka: Chapter One – Chandra’, featuring Kalyani Priyadarshan in the lead as the superhero ‘Chandra’, became the third Malayalam film to swiftly enter the ₹100 crore club.

Produced by Dulquer Salmaan under the Wayfarer Films banner, the film also stars Naslen, Chandu Salimkumar, and Arun Kurian in prominent roles. Several top Malayalam stars also appear in special cameos.
