Pranav Mohanlal, often hailed as the most adored star kid in Malayalam cinema, has always intrigued fans with his low-profile lifestyle despite his lineage.

He acted in a few films during his childhood, even portraying younger versions of his father Mohanlal’s characters. He was also awarded the Kerala State Film Award for Best Child Artist. Still, for a long time, audiences were unsure whether Pranav would make a full-fledged comeback as a lead actor. Eventually, it felt like the prayers of Mohanlal fans were answered when Pranav made his return as a hero through ‘Aadhi.’

Pranav continues to invest his energy in travel, music and writing, rarely revealing anything about his personal life. Still, gossip columns often link his name to various rumours — the most persistent being about a relationship with actress Kalyani Priyadarshan.

The two, who acted together in the hit film ‘Hridayam,’ were often speculated to be more than friends. But those whispers have now been put to rest. Filmmaker Alleppey Ashraf recently revealed in a video on his YouTube channel, that Pranav is indeed in a relationship — but not with Kalyani. According to him, actress Lissy, Kalyani’s mother, confirmed that Pranav is dating a woman from Germany.

“I asked Lissy directly...She told me, ‘If they want it, it’s fine — but there’s nothing like that between them. They’re like siblings. Appu is like a hero to all of us. He’s in love, yes, but not with Kalyani. He’s with a girl from Germany.’”

Earlier, Pranav’s appearance at the preview screening of ‘Barroz’ in Chennai drew widespread attention. Mohanlal’s directorial debut had its special screening attended by many stars, including Mani Ratnam, Vijay Sethupathi and actress Rohini. However, all eyes were on Pranav, who attended the event with his parents and sister — and interestingly, with a foreign woman who was seen accompanying the family. Videos from the venue, where Pranav is seen walking her to the car, are now circulating across social media platforms.

This is not the first time the woman has been seen with Pranav. Earlier, photographs of the two together while abroad had surfaced online. 

For those fans still hoping for a romantic twist between Pranav and Kalyani, Ashraf had this to say: “To those waiting on social media saying ‘marry Pranav’ – I think it’s time to move on.”
