Venice: Celebrations are in full swing among fans and motorsport enthusiasts as actor Ajith Kumar has been awarded the prestigious Gentleman Driver of the Year 2025 title. The honour, presented by the Philippe Charriol Motorsport Group in Venice, Italy, highlights his remarkable journey from cinema icon to professional racer.

The award was handed over by Stéphane Ratel, CEO of SRO Motorsports Group, widely regarded as a global leader in GT racing.

Actor Shalini, who accompanied Ajith at the ceremony, shared glimpses of the proud moment on Instagram. "Honoured to stand beside my husband in Venice, as he is being awarded 'Gentleman Driver of the Year 2025' in honour of entrepreneur and racing driver, the late Philippe Charriol." she wrote.

Expressing gratitude while accepting the honour, Ajith said, "I'd like to take this moment to remember Mr Philippe Charriol. I've heard so many nice things about Mr Charriol--that he was very kind and a wonderful person. I heard that he inspired all those he came across in his life. My experience in the Motorsport world has been exciting, challenging, and a pleasure," he added.

The recognition comes at a time when Ajith has successfully turned his long-held passion for motorsport into a full-fledged professional pursuit. In 2024, he launched Ajith Kumar Racing, leading the team into multiple internationally acclaimed racing championships and earning notable victories.

Industry insiders note that such achievements were made possible after Ajith completed all pending film commitments in record time. By December 2024, he wrapped up shooting and dubbing for his films Vidaamuyarchi and Good Bad Ugly, allowing him to dedicate himself entirely to racing.

His fans are celebrating a new chapter of success — one powered not by stardom alone, but by relentless passion and commitment.
