Kochi: Adithi Krishnadas, a girl who built her world around the mythological tales told by her grandpa, is now living in a world of acclaim and recognition as her directorial venture, ‘Kandittund!’ (Seen it) continues to bag honours, with the latest being the National Award for Best Animation Film.
The idea behind the film evolved out of some ghost stories narrated by Kesavapanicker of Eriyat Pazhumadam in Tripunithura. The film has been produced by his son Suresh Eriyat, a two-time National Award winner.
‘Kandittund!’, which was completed after 18 months of dedicated hard work, has so far been screened at 12 film festivals.
While the National Awards were announced, Adithi was busy planning her upcoming endeavours along with co-workers Rebecca and Fayaz. She had joined National Institute of Design’s (NID) undergraduate animation programme right after higher secondary to pursue her animation dreams.
At present, Adithi is a part of Suresh Eriyat’s Eeksaurus Animation. She is the daughter of journalist Krishnadas and Mini, a retired higher secondary school principal. Her sister Arundathi is a lawyer based in New Delhi.
