Kochi: After eight and half years of legal proceedings, the final verdict in the actress assault case will be delivered on Monday. Ernakulam Principal Sessions Judge Honey M. Varghese is scheduled to pronounce the judgment, with court proceedings set to begin at 11 a.m.

The incident

The actress was attacked on 17 February 2017 at Athani in Ernakulam while travelling from Thrissur for a film shoot. According to the prosecution, Pulsar Suni and his gang allegedly abducted, assaulted, and filmed compromising visuals of the actress as part of a contracted crime. The main accused were arrested shortly after the incident, and actor Dileep was taken into custody in July that same year.
