Kochi: Actor Nivin Pauly on Tuesday strongly denied recent sexual assault allegations made against him.
The complainant, from Neryamangalam in Ernakulam, alleged that Pauly assaulted her abroad in 2023 under the guise of offering her a movie role. Following this, the police registered a case.
The case, which involves Pauly, the complainant’s female friend, and four others, was registered by the Oonnukal Police in Ernakulam, with non-bailable charges filed against the accused.
In response to the accusations, Pauly took to Facebook to address the claims. He stated, "I have come across a false news report accusing me of abusing a girl. Please know that this is entirely untrue. I'm determined to go to any extent to prove these allegations are baseless and will take all necessary steps to bring those responsible to light. Thank you for your concern. The rest will be handled legally."
The allegations were reported to the Special Investigation Team (SIT), which was formed following the release of the Hema Committee report. The SIT notified the Oonnukal police, leading to the registration of the case.
