Kochi: Actor and television presenter Rajesh Keshav, who collapsed during a programme last week, remains in intensive care but is showing signs of recovery, according to filmmaker Prathap Jayalakshmi.

In a Facebook post, Prathap said Rajesh’s blood pressure and pulse are stable, though doctors believe he will need prolonged treatment to address complications from the heart attack.

“He is also showing signs of recovery, and the doctors are considering shifting him from the ICU to a room by next week,” Prathap wrote.

A panel of doctors has been formed to oversee Rajesh’s treatment, and the family is being kept updated. Prathap added that doctors are also consulting hospitals outside Kerala with expertise in neuro-rehabilitation.

“The immediate focus is to move Rajesh from the ICU to a room and stabilise his condition. Only then will other steps be considered,” Prathap noted, adding that “good treatment and sincere prayers” would support his recovery.

Rajesh collapsed a few days ago  during an event at a private hotel in Kochi. He was admitted to a hospital in Maradu, where he suffered a heart attack and underwent angioplasty. He was placed on a ventilator and was removed from it last week.
