Kochi: Police have arrested actor Bala based on a complaint filed by his former wife on Monday.

The Kadavantra Police acted on her complaint that Bala had defamed her and their daughter on social media. He has been booked under the Juvenile Justice (Care and Protection of Children) Act.

The complaint includes an allegation that Bala stalked her and harassed their daughter. He was arrested in the wee hours at his flat in Edappally and taken to Kadavantra Police Station, where questioning is currently ongoing. According to police officials, Bala will be presented in court later this evening.

Earlier, Bala's daughter has spoken out publicly against him on these issues. Since the case falls under the jurisdiction of the Ernakulam South Police Station, there is a possibility it may be transferred there.
