No one knew about it until the death of Nisha Patil, a die-hard fan of actor Sanjay Dutt, the charming and controversial Bollywood star. Dutt, who had reemerged from the shadows of stories linked to the Mumbai bomb blasts through brilliant movies like Munnabhai MBBS, was taken by surprise. Even for someone who has witnessed enough drama both in films and real life, the news that Nisha Patil, who had been unknown to him, had left behind assets worth ₹72 crores in his name was shocking.

This gesture was so grand that it seemed almost like an act of devotion. In 2018, Nisha Patil, a housewife from Mumbai, prepared a will transferring her assets worth ₹72 crores to Sanjay Dutt after her death. However, she had never met Dutt in person during her lifetime. She was simply fascinated by his acting skills. Sanjay Dutt, the son of Bollywood legends late Sunil Dutt and actress Nargis, had captured her admiration through his performances.

Sanjay Dutt was shocked by his fan's actions. It was only after Nisha Patil's death  at the age of 62 in 2018 that the police informed him about the will she had left behind. Nisha had been battling a severe illness in her final days and had written several letters to the bank requesting that all her assets be transferred to Sanjay Dutt. 

Despite this grand gesture, Dutt made it clear that he did not intend to claim the assets. He said that he did not personally know Nisha and that the entire situation had caused him considerable distress.

The actor's lawyer confirmed that Sanjay Dutt had no intention of claiming the ₹72 crore assets and would take any necessary legal steps to return the property to Nisha's family. "I am not claiming anything; I did not know Nisha. The entire incident has caused me a great deal of discomfort," he stated.

Sanjay Dutt has enjoyed a remarkable career spanning over four decades, with more than 135 films, starting with the blockbuster Rocky in 1981. Known for his commanding presence and undeniable charisma, he has won the admiration of countless fans through his captivating performances. In terms of recent projects, he was seen alongside Thalapathy Vijay in the 2023 Tamil film Leo. Currently, he is preparing for his next major venture, Baaghi 4, where he will share the screen with Tiger Shroff. The highly anticipated action movie is expected to hit theaters on September 5, 2025.
