Sonu Nigam found an unusual way to keep his spirits up while undergoing surgery. The singer shared a video from the operating theatre in which he can be seen singing Mohammed Rafi's classic song ‘Suhani Raat Dhal Chuki’ while surrounded by his doctor and medical team.

The clip shows Sonu singing the 1949 song from Dulari while on the operating table. Sharing the video on Instagram, he revealed that the performance happened spontaneously during the procedure.

"An impromptu performance for dear @drnileshsatbhai and his loving team during my surgery. Singing in the pain.. the Joy of Music! (Folded hands emoji) (sic)," he wrote alongside the video.

The unusual moment quickly caught the attention of fans, with several people taking to social media to wish the singer a speedy recovery.

The singer has not revealed why he underwent surgery. However, Sonu had spoken about a health problem earlier this year.

In June, he shared a video explaining that he had been dealing with a painful nerve-related condition. He said doctors had been carrying out MRI and CT scans and that he had been taking medication.

"My nerves are pinched. I have been taking MRI and CT scans for a week. I have been taking a lot of medicines," Sonu said in the video.

He also showed a patch near his neck and explained that the condition was affecting his throat, leaving it feeling heavy.

"Physiotherapy was very painful. I am taking painkillers now. Due to that, my throat is also a little heavy," he added.

At the time, Sonu also spoke about how difficult the recovery process had been, particularly the pain he experienced during physiotherapy.

The latest video has once again left fans concerned about the singer's health. Members of the film and music fraternity also shared their wishes for his recovery after he posted the clip.
