Mumbai: Playback singer Shreya Ghoshal is finally back on X after her account was hacked almost two months ago.
On Sunday, Shreya posted a video message on her X account, letting fans know that her account has now been restored. In the clip, the singer spoke about the difficult time she faced trying to get support from the X team, and how someone from the India team eventually stepped in to help.
“All is well! Now, I am here”
"I am back!! I will be talking and writing here often. Yes, my X account has been in trouble since it was hacked in February. Now, I have finally received help from the @X team after a lot of struggles in establishing proper communication. All is well! Now, I am here," she wrote.
Shreya also took the opportunity to caution fans about fake ads and clickbait articles that have been circulating online using her name.
"Also, there are many weird ads running, which are articles about me with very absurd headlines and AI-generated pictures. These are clickbait, which lead to spam/fraudulent links. Please keep reporting these ads. I have no power to remove them. I have tried my best. These are X's ad regulations, which allow such ads to run. Hope they solve these matters soon," she added.
Earlier alert on Instagram
Back on 1 March, Shreya had informed her followers on Instagram that she was struggling to regain access to her X account.
At the time, she wrote: "Hello fans and friends. My Twitter/X account has been hacked since February 13th. I have tried everything in my capacity to reach out to the X team, but there has been no response beyond a few auto-generated replies. I am unable to even delete my account since I can't log in anymore."
