Indore: The police here arrested two people on Saturday for illegally reselling tickets to actor and singer Diljit Dosanjh’s concert at double the price. The concert is scheduled to take place on December 8 in Indore, Madhya Pradesh.  

Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) Crime Branch Rajesh Tripathi stated that the two accused purchased tickets online and attempted to sell them for Rs 10,000 each, double the original price of Rs 4,000 to Rs 5,000.  

“Crime Branch is keeping a close watch on black marketing of concert tickets. We arrested two individuals and recovered five tickets from them,” said Tripathi.  

Bajrang Dal protests the concert  

Meanwhile, Bajrang Dal staged protests against the concert, raising concerns over cultural values and safety.  

Yash Bachani, a member of the Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP), said, “We heard there will be open serving of liquor and meat at the event. We are inspecting to ensure women’s safety and to prevent any incidents of ‘Love Jihad.’ If needed, Bajrang Dal will take to the streets to protest.”  

The Indore Police addressed the concerns, ensuring strict measures for safety and compliance. Additional DCP Amrendra Singh said, “We take law and order, women’s safety, and drug abuse issues seriously. Open alcohol consumption has not been permitted at the event. Everything is being monitored.”  

Liquor permit cancelled in Pune  

Earlier, the state excise department cancelled a liquor permit for Diljit Dosanjh’s concert in Pune following protests by local residents, BJP leaders, and the youth wing of the NCP party.  

Diljit recently performed an energetic show in Bengaluru where Deepika Padukone had shared stage with him.

The ongoing Dil-Luminati Tour will next stop in Chandigarh on December 14 and Guwahati on December 29.
