Malayalam actress Swasika arrives safely in Kochi after her flight from Abu Dhabi was delayed due to West Asia tensions.

Kochi: Ongoing tensions in West Asia, including the escalating conflict involving Iran, Israel and the United States, have led to temporary travel disruptions across parts of the Gulf, affecting several passengers, among them Malayalam actress Swasika, who returned to Kerala after her flight from Abu Dhabi was delayed.
The actress was scheduled to reach home on February 28 but was unable to travel due to flight cancellations and airspace-related disruptions following heightened regional security concerns. She arrived in Kerala on Wednesday after services were stabilised.
Speaking about the situation, Swasika said there was no major panic during her stay in Abu Dhabi, and that conditions remained largely under control. However, she acknowledged that being in another country during a tense period naturally created a sense of slight concern.
“Heavy panic situation is not there, but still, as we are from another country, so definitely we will get a little panic,” she said, adding that she was originally supposed to return on February 28. She confirmed that her travel experience itself was smooth once flights resumed, and that arrangements for accommodation and food were adequate throughout her stay.
Her husband, Prem Jacob, also stated that there were no difficulties on the ground and that the overall situation remained orderly despite the broader regional tensions.
The travel disruptions come amid increasing instability in West Asia, where intensified military developments have prompted temporary flight adjustments and heightened security measures in several countries. Airlines operating in the region have been monitoring the situation closely, leading to delays and cancellations on select routes.
Authorities continue to advise travellers to stay updated through official airline and embassy notifications as the situation evolves.
Flight operations are gradually returning to normal in many sectors, but monitoring remains ongoing due to the uncertain regional environment.
