Mumbai: The buzz around actors Vijay Thalapathy and Trisha Krishnan continues to dominate entertainment headlines, and now actress-politician Khushboo Sundar has weighed in on the growing speculation.

The chatter began after Vijay and Trisha were spotted arriving together at a wedding reception recently. The two walked up to the stage side by side to congratulate the newlyweds and were seen posing for photographs, sparking a storm of discussion among fans and social media users.

Amid the rising curiosity, Khushboo dismissed the controversy, calling it a matter of personal life that should not be blown out of proportion.

Speaking exclusively to IANS, the senior actress said she does not understand why the public is turning the incident into a controversy.

“I don’t understand what people have to do with this incident. It is their personal life. If their personal life affects people, we can talk about it. Otherwise, why make it such a big deal?” Khushboo said.

Her remarks come at a time when Vijay has been under intense public scrutiny, especially after reports surfaced that his wife, Sangeetha Sornalingam, has filed for divorce.

The wedding reception appearance of Vijay and Trisha, soon after these reports began circulating, only added fuel to the rumour mill, with fans and gossip pages speculating about the nature of their relationship.

However, Khushboo was quick to shut down the speculation, insisting that celebrities also deserve personal space. “Their personal life has nothing to do with people. They will see their own life. People are not affected in any way,” she said.

When asked whether the controversy could affect Vijay’s popularity, especially at a time when the actor is increasingly involved in politics, Khushboo expressed confidence in the public’s judgement.

“I think people are right when they vote. They know when to vote and where to vote,” she said, adding that personal matters should not be used to judge someone’s public career.

Khushboo also stressed that public figures are ultimately human beings. “He is a human being. Whether he is a leader or not, he is a common man like us,” she said.

While neither Vijay nor Trisha has addressed the speculation, their brief appearance together at the reception has already triggered widespread debate across fan circles and social media.

For now, Khushboo’s message is clear, the excitement surrounding the two stars may be understandable, but their personal lives should remain just that: personal.
