Hollywood actor Orlando Bloom has reportedly stepped away from the upcoming survival thriller 'Reset', in which he was set to star opposite Priyanka Chopra Jonas.

Bloom had been involved with the project during its pre-production phase and was expected to serve as both an actor and co-producer through his production company Amazing Owl. Chopra Jonas was also attached as a producer through her banner Purple Pebble Pictures.

According to TMZ, Bloom left the project shortly before filming was due to begin.

Bloom's reported exit

Bloom's departure has reportedly caused frustration among members of the cast and crew, particularly because his involvement with Chopra Jonas was considered important to the independent film's financing and distribution prospects.

The report said the actor's attachment to the project, alongside Chopra Jonas, had helped the film secure funding and was expected to strengthen its chances of finding an international distributor.

Three actors are reportedly being considered to take over Bloom's role. The filmmakers are expected to make a decision soon to avoid disrupting the production schedule.

What is ‘Reset’ about?

Directed by Matt Smukler, who previously helmed the 2020 drama 'Wildflower', 'Reset' centres on a woman played by Chopra Jonas who wakes up alone in a remote wilderness with no memory of how she got there.

Far from civilisation, she is forced to depend on a seemingly friendly stranger as she tries to survive. As their situation unfolds, however, she begins to question whether the man helping her can actually be trusted.

Who is producing ‘Reset’?

The film is being produced by Jon Hoeber and Erich Hoeber under their Fratricidal Films banner. Michael Lazarovitch is producing for Chemically Altered, while Matthew Rhodes is attached through Rhodes Entertainment.

Nadine de Barros serves as an executive producer.
