Veteran Bollywood actor Amitabh Bachchan has informed fans that he is still recovering and requires additional rest, days after announcing a temporary break from his regular social media and blog updates.

The 84-year-old actor, who has maintained a close connection with his followers through his online posts, shared the latest update on his Tumblr blog on Friday.

Reflecting on his recovery and the functioning of the human body, Bachchan wrote, “Yet more rest needed .. adjusting .. thinking and wondering .. the human body and its uniqueness.”

The latest message follows an earlier announcement in which the actor revealed that he had been advised by doctors to take a few days off to rest and recover. He also apologised to his followers for being unable to maintain his usual communication with them.

In a Dussehra message posted on his blog, Bachchan extended his wishes to fans while explaining that he was following strict medical advice.

“First Dussehra greetings to all .. love happiness, fulfilment, prayers. Under very strict rest and recuperation .. so am not allowed to communicate .. do excuse .. my apologies,” he wrote.

The actor also acknowledged those who had sent him personal wishes, adding, “But do take this as my respected response .. more hopefully later.”

While Bachchan has not disclosed the reason for his prescribed rest, his latest post indicates that he is continuing to take time away from his usual activities.

Meanwhile, the actor's health update comes as Mumbai Police investigate a reported bomb threat involving his residence. According to reports, a school in Mumbai's Bandra-Kurla Complex (BKC) received an email on Friday allegedly threatening Bachchan's bungalow.

Police have initiated an investigation, although it remains unclear whether the email referred to his Jalsa or Prateeksha residence.

Bachchan, who began blogging in 2008, is known for regularly interacting with fans through his personal blog and social media platforms. His posts frequently offer glimpses into his daily life, professional commitments and personal reflections.
