The much-awaited Business Class bus, announced as a dream project of KSRTC by Transport Minister KB Ganesh Kumar, has arrived. The new bus has been designed based on Volvo’s luxury models and is equipped with premium business-class features. The minister had earlier stated that such buses would be introduced as part of KSRTC’s modernisation drive.

The seating layout features two seats per row, ensuring more space for passengers. Each seat comes with an individual screen. The seats are fully reclining and covered in leather. Additional amenities include mobile charging ports, bottle holders, luggage racks, footrests, armrests, and window curtains. The exterior of the bus is painted in blue.

Several features never before seen in KSRTC buses are also being introduced. Although inspired by Volvo models, the bus has only 35 seats, offering greater comfort and space for each passenger. Facilities such as tea and light refreshments, a toilet, and a pantry will also be available onboard.

The Business Class bus was announced towards the end of 2025. The minister described it as the beginning of a revolutionary change in Kerala’s public transport sector. Once national highway development is completed, a modern Business Class bus service connecting Thiruvananthapuram and Kochi in just 3.5 to 4 hours will be launched. He noted on social media that this would open a new chapter in travel experience in the state.

The buses will offer amenities comparable to business class seats on Emirates flights. Each passenger will have access to a personal TV, charging facilities, and Wi-Fi. In addition to the driver, a dedicated bus hostess will be present to assist passengers. The minister also mentioned that seats will be imported from abroad to ensure world-class standards.
