Travel influencer Anunay Sood, who built a massive digital following with his globe-trotting content, is believed to have died of a suspected drug overdose inside a room at the Wynn Las Vegas earlier this month, according to a report from LA-based outlet 8NewsNow.

Unresponsive in hotel room

Police officers were called to the luxury resort on November 4, where they found the 31-year-old unresponsive inside his room. Documents cited in the report said “narcotics” were discovered close to his body.

Sood had been in Las Vegas for the Las Vegas Concours 2025 car event, something he had highlighted on his Instagram posts shortly before his death.

Witness account of alleged drug use

A woman who had been staying with Sood told investigators that the group had bought what they believed was cocaine from a man on the casino floor at around 4 am. She said that she, Sood and another woman consumed the substance before falling asleep.

Roughly an hour later, the two women woke to find Sood unresponsive. Officers later recovered a small bag of unidentified white powder along with other items indicating it had been snorted, according to the report.

Family confirms death

Sood’s family and close friends confirmed his passing on Instagram last week. They appealed for privacy and asked followers not to gather outside their residence. His final social media posts placed him in Las Vegas at the time of the incident.

As of Monday, police said no arrests had been made in connection with the case.

The Clark County coroner’s office has said the exact cause and manner of death remain undetermined. Toxicology results – necessary to confirm whether substances played a role — may take several months to finalise.
