Rashmika Mandanna chose a ₹64,800 indigo silk sari from Raw Mango for her meeting with Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Vijay.

Rashmika Mandanna made a case for timeless Indian elegance in a midnight blue Banarasi silk sari from Raw Mango as she accompanied Vijay Deverakonda to meet Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Joseph Vijay. While the meeting drew attention, the actor’s understated ethnic look stood out for its rich colour, traditional craftsmanship and minimal styling.
For the occasion, Rashmika chose the Asgar silk sari in indigo, priced at ₹64,800. The deep blue hue lent the ensemble a sense of understated richness, while the scalloped border added a delicate detail to the classic drape. The look was a reminder that a sari does not need elaborate embellishments to make a statement.
The choice of Raw Mango, known for its contemporary interpretation of Indian textiles and traditional silhouettes, complemented the actor’s preference for keeping the ensemble elegant without making it overly ornate.
Rashmika paired the sari with a simple choker, allowing the rich indigo silk and its scalloped detailing to remain the focal points. The restrained jewellery kept the overall look balanced, with the traditional drape doing most of the talking. She completed the ensemble with a blouse, although the brand's listed price for the sari does not include one.
The styling offered a lesson in occasion dressing: when the fabric, colour and silhouette are distinctive enough, accessories can take a back seat. Rather than leaning on heavy jewellery or layers of embellishment, Rashmika let the sari's texture and finish carry the look.
The indigo palette also made the ensemble a versatile choice for formal daytime occasions, festive gatherings and intimate celebrations. Its classic appeal lies in the way it brings together the richness of silk and the quiet sophistication of a pared-back aesthetic.
Meanwhile, Vijay Deverakonda shared photographs from the couple's meeting with Chief Minister Vijay on social media, praising the latter's warm hospitality. The actor described the interaction as a memorable one, expressing his appreciation for the time the Chief Minister spent with them despite a busy schedule.
Rashmika and Vijay Deverakonda are also set to reunite on screen in ‘Ranabaali’, directed by Rahul Sankrityan. The period drama, set in 19th-century South India, is scheduled to release in theatres on October 16.
