Naomi Campbell brought Indian couture to Milan nightlife in Rahul Mishra’s ‘Cadence’ gown from the ‘Devi’ collection, pairing intricate embroidery with a bold, sculptural silhouette.

Naomi Campbell brought high-fashion drama to Milan as she stepped behind the DJ console in a striking Rahul Mishra couture gown. The supermodel chose the designer’s ‘Cadence’ gown from his Fall 2026 ‘Devi’ collection, pairing intricate Indian craftsmanship with a decidedly after-dark aesthetic.
Known for commanding attention wherever she goes, Campbell made the Milan appearance in a sculptural bronze-gold creation featuring a heavily embellished bodice and fluid mesh fabric. The gown, described by Rahul Mishra as a hand-embroidered, bejewelled bodice design in liquid mesh, combined traditional couture craftsmanship with a daring contemporary silhouette.
Naomi Campbell’s ‘Cadence’ gown blends sculpture and movement
The gown plays with contrasts. Its ornate bodice is densely embellished in gold-toned detailing, giving it an almost sculptural, armour-like appearance. Below it, the fluid bronze-brown mesh drapes around Campbell’s figure, creating softness and movement.
A plunging U-shaped neckline and carefully placed cut-outs add a sensual element to the otherwise elaborate design. The contrast between the structured upper half and the flowing fabric gives the gown a sense of movement, particularly under the lights of the Milan nightlife scene.
The warm metallic palette further enhances its molten effect. As Campbell moved, the embroidery caught the light while the sheer mesh shifted around her, allowing the gown to appear almost fluid.
The design also carries echoes of Indian draping, reinterpreted through a distinctly contemporary couture lens. Rather than replicating a traditional sari, Mishra incorporates elements of its fluidity and transforms them into a dramatic evening silhouette.
Campbell adds a futuristic edge to the couture look
The supermodel went equally bold with her accessories. Oversized shield sunglasses gave the ensemble a futuristic club aesthetic, while layers of diamond-studded bracelets added more sparkle to both wrists.
She further accessorised with a gold body chain, a statement neck chain and a large ring, creating a maximalist finish against the already intricate gown.
Campbell’s honey-blonde hair complemented the warm bronze tones of the ensemble. Her beauty look remained relatively polished and luminous, featuring glossy pink lips, flushed cheeks, highlighted skin and defined brows.

The result was a look that sat somewhere between supermodel glamour, disco fantasy and couture spectacle.
Rahul Mishra’s ‘Devi’ collection draws from Indian sculpture
Campbell’s Milan appearance also highlights the artistic roots of Rahul Mishra’s Fall 2026 couture collection, ‘Devi’.
Presented during Paris Haute Couture Week, the collection draws inspiration from India’s ancient sculptures and architectural heritage. Mishra looked towards representations of devis, dancers and celestial figures carved into temple structures and monumental sites.
The Ajanta Caves in Maharashtra and the Hoysaleswara Temple in Karnataka are among the architectural references associated with the collection. Mishra translated the intricate surfaces and forms of Indian sculpture into elaborate couture embroidery.
Instead of recreating the appearance of stone literally, the designer used traditional techniques and embellishments including zardozi, dabka, crystals and bugle beads to create richly textured surfaces.
The result is a collection that plays with the idea of transforming something seemingly permanent and monumental into garments that move with the body.
The ‘Cadence’ gown embodies that idea particularly well. Its heavily embellished bodice has the presence of a sculptural object, while the fluid mesh beneath it introduces movement and softness.
Naomi Campbell joins the celebrity names embracing ‘Devi’
Campbell is among several high-profile names to have worn pieces from Rahul Mishra’s latest couture collection. ‘Devi’ has also found fans in Isha Ambani, Cardi B and Banita Sandhu.
What sets Campbell’s appearance apart, however, is the setting. Instead of a traditional red carpet, the supermodel wore the couture creation while DJing in Milan, placing the intricate Indian craftsmanship directly in the middle of the city’s fashion and nightlife scene.
The juxtaposition worked effortlessly. Centuries-old Indian artistic influences were translated into a provocative, contemporary gown, while Campbell’s styling pushed the look further into futuristic club territory.
