New Delhi: Renowned Kerala poet Prabha Varma has bagged ‘Saraswati Samman’ 2023 for his verse novel ‘Roudra Sathwikam’.
Saraswati Samman is an annual award for outstanding prose or poetry literary works in any of the 22 languages of India listed in Schedule VIII of the Constitution of India.
The award, instituted by the K.K. Birla Foundation, carries a cash prize of Rs 15 lakh, a citation, and a plaque.
It may be noted that it is after a 12-year hiatus that a Malayali has been bagging this prestigious award.
