Kozhikode: Acclaimed writer Methil Radhakrishnan was honoured with the Mathrubhumi Literary Award 2025. Legendary Malayalam novelist M. Mukundan presented the award on Wednesday morning at the Kandamkulam Mohammed Abdur Rahiman Memorial Jubilee Hall.
The Mathrubhumi Literary Award, one of Kerala’s most esteemed cultural honours, recognises Radhakrishnan’s profound contribution to the literary landscape. The accolade includes a cash prize of ₹3 lakh, a citation, and a statuette designed by the iconic artist MV Devan.
During the event, Mathrubhumi Chairman and Managing Editor PV Chandran honoured the laureate by adorning him with a ponnada (shawl). The cash award was presented by Mathrubhumi Managing Director M.V. Shreyams Kumar, who also presided over the function.
Distinguished literary figures, including Kalpatta Narayanan, S. Saradakkutty, and Subash Chandran, addressed the audience.
