Kozhikode: Mathrubhumi Literary Award for the year 2020 was presented to poet K Satchidanandan. The award includes a cash prize of Rs 3 lakh, plaque and citation. Mathrubhumi Managing Director M V Shreyams Kumar presented the award to K Satchidanandan in the function held at Mathrubhumi Head Office in Kozhikode. Mathrubhumi Chairman and Managing Editor P V Chandran presented the cash prize and citation.

Mathrubhumi Joint Managing Editor P V Nidheesh honoured Satchidanandan with a ceremonial shawl. Senior Executive Editor V Ravindranath, Executive Editor O R Ramachandran and Mathrubhumi Weekly Assistant Editor Subhash Chandran were also present during the function.

The citation reads that Satchidanandan is a poet who breathes life into Malayalam poetry by embracing the numerous transitional periods of poetry. Satchidanandan’s poems have stayed embossed in the hearts of Malayalis for the past 50 years.
