Palakkad: Prime Minister Narendra Modi condoled the demise of the late poet and Jnanpith laureate Akkitham Achuthan Namboothiri in a message sent to the grieving family of the poet.

In the condolence message, the PM stated that the creative works of Akkitham, the great poet, redefined the literature in Malayalam and strengthened the social and cultural heritage of the nation.

The intellectual poet's works influenced the readers of all generations including youth. Also the youngsters could effortlessly imbibe the great concepts put forward by Akkitham, the prime minister said in the message.
