The agriculture department has extended a helping hand to those who are interested to start small scale farming in households during the lockdown.

As part of this, the farms owned by agricultural department, Karshika Karma Sena (green army), Vegetable and Fruit Promotion Council Keralam (VFPCK) and Kerala Agricultural University are jointly initiating a mission to provide seed packets and vegetable saplings to 50 lakh families in the state.

The seeds and saplings will be distributed via the volunteers and rapid response team in respective panchayats. This facility is available in all panchayats and it can be used by contacting the agriculture officer in Krishi Bhavan.
