Alathur: A mobile application named ‘LAPTOP’ (Livestock And Pets Trading Online Platform) is being launched to facilitate the online buying and selling of livestock, including cattle. The app is being developed under the supervision of the Kerala Livestock Development Board.

The main objective of the application is to ensure transparent transactions between buyers and sellers. Officials from the Animal Husbandry Department said it will help farmers access accurate market prices and receive fair value for their livestock.

Currently, the platform is designed as both a web application and an Android mobile app. It also includes measures to prevent the trade of animals, birds, and other species listed under prohibited categories. Sellers will be required to submit a declaration confirming that such species are not listed. Each listing will be made public only after verification and approval by the admin.

According to KLDB officials, the app features an AI-based monitoring system and multi-language support. It has been developed by Palakkad-based startup ‘Amigosia’ under the Kerala Startup Mission.
