In a special sitting, a bench of Justices Joymalya Bagchi and V Mohana also issued a notice to the Centre while hearing a plea seeking contempt proceedings for an alleged violation of the court's direction to ensure that there is no "complete prohibition" on metro and train services in Delhi due to the Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) protest.

Saudi Arabia extends airport closure and moves Riyadh schools online as attack threats continue
Cairo: Saudi Arabia on Sunday kept its main international airport closed and moved Riyadh schools online as Yemen's Houthi rebels threatened new airstrikes across the kingdom, a day after a missile attack killed 12 people and wounded more than 300.
Saturday’s strike on King Khalid International Airport in Riyadh marked a major escalation in the war between Yemen’s Iran’s-backed Houthis and the kingdom and further complicated sputtering efforts to halt the U.S.-Iran war. U.S. President Donald Trump said he was considering whether to join Saudi strikes against the rebels, a scenario that could prompt the Houthis to halt shipping through a crucial waterway and further restrict the flow of oil out of the Persian Gulf.
Trump sticks with tariffs even as US voters turn against them before midterms
New York: Maybe President Donald Trump really does believe that "tariff" is the most beautiful word in the dictionary.
Despite higher prices, criticism from trade experts and displeasure among voters, Trump holds fast to his belief that imposing the highest import duties on US trading partners since the Great Depression is a winner.
A recent poll suggests that is a big gamble with less than a month before the November 3 midterms. Most US adults disapprove of his trade policies, with more than 64 per cent saying he has gone too far with his latest tariffs, compared with 58 per cent in January.
