The National Testing Agency (NTA) has released a formal advisory for individuals appearing in the Common University Entrance Test [CUET (UG)]-2026, outlining specific regulations regarding attire and authorised personal belongings at testing facilities.

The NTA is scheduled to administer the CUET-UG 2026 via Computer-Based Test (CBT) protocols between May 11 and May 31, 2026. The examination will take place at numerous locations throughout India and in 15 international cities.

Candidates scheduled to take the examination are instructed to observe the following guidelines:

  • Hydration: Participants are permitted to bring water bottles, provided they are transparent.
  • Religious Observances: The agency permits the wearing of objects or articles of faith. However, candidates must arrive at their designated centres well before the start time to undergo mandatory security frisking. Officials specifically noted that "religious threads such as kalava are allowed."
  • Apparel: The advisory suggests "white light clothing" as the preferred attire. While candidates may wear woollen garments if necessary, those choosing to do so must report to the centre early to facilitate thorough security screenings.
  • Footwear: The NTA recommends "normal shoes, slippers and low heels" for those attending the sessions.

For additional information or specific inquiries concerning the CUET (UG)-2026, the NTA has directed candidates to contact its Help Desk via telephone at 011-40759000 or through electronic mail at cuet-ug@nta.ac.in.

The agency emphasised that all examinees are required to comply with these regulations and work in conjunction with facility staff to ensure the orderly administration of the test.
