Thrissur: Teachers across Kerala now have a new platform to clarify their academic doubts, thanks to a set of WhatsApp groups created by M. Divya, a Malayalam teacher at Vivekodaya School.

Designed for educators teaching multiple subjects from L.P. to Higher Secondary levels, the initiative includes 23 groups with around 23,000 teachers from across all districts. These groups serve as a forum for teachers to resolve queries related to their syllabus.

How do the groups function?

Operating under the name ‘Divyanadam’, the groups are completely free of charge. Teachers can participate in discussions, seek advice, and attend Google Meet sessions twice a month with senior educators to address curriculum-related issues. The focus is not only on teaching but also on collaborative problem-solving among teachers.

The groups cover a wide range of academic discussions, including:

  • Preparing teacher notes
  • Methods for teaching each part of the syllabus
  • Exam preparation strategies
  • Recommended reference books

The groups were first started in July 2024 to help teachers prepare for the U.S.S. exams. In addition to Divya, more than ten other teachers actively support the initiative.

Apart from curriculum-focused groups, there are several others catering to teachers’ interests:

  • Divyaragam – for music lovers
  • Divyadrishti – featuring short films
  • Divyasanchaaram – for reading enthusiasts
  • Divyajaalakam – covering news updates
