Kerala has invited online applications for K-TET December 2025. Exams will be held on February 21 and 23. Check eligibility, fee and exemptions.

Office of the Commissioner of Government Examinations, Kerala; Pareekshabhavan, Thiruvananthapuram, has invited applications for the Kerala Teacher Eligibility Test (K-TET), December 2025, the eligibility Test for appointment as teachers in Lower Primary Schools, Upper Primary Schools, and High Schools in Kerala.
K-TET will be held in 4 categories: (i) Category I- Lower Primary Classes, (ii) Category II- Upper Primary Classes (iii) Category III- High School Classes (iv) Category IV -Language Teachers- Arabic, Hindi, Sanskrit, Urdu- up to UP Level; Specialist Teachers (Arts & Craft, Physical Education teachers).
Exemptions: (i) Those who have passed CTET Primary stage are exempted from qualifying in K-TET Category I (ii) Those who have passed CTET Elementary stage are exempted from qualifying in K-TET Category II (iii) Those who have cleared NET/SET/ M.Phil/ Ph.D/ M.Ed are exempted from qualifying in K-TET Categories I to IV (iv) Those who have cleared K-TET Category III are exempted from qualifying in K-TET Category II (v) Those who cleared one of K-TET Category I or II can be considered for LP/UP appointments (vi) Language teachers who have cleared Category III are exempted from getting qualified in Category IV.
All exemptions specified are subject to the Orders dated 1.9.2025 of the Supreme Court.

Those who have been admitted to B.Ed. Based on the marks in their Post Graduate Degree, they are also eligible to apply for K-TET. Those studying in the final year of B.Ed./D.Ed./D.El.Ed. (Semester 3 or 4) You are also eligible. However, their K-TET Certificate will be released only after they produce the Degree Certificate of B.Ed./D.Ed./D.El.Ed.
There is no age limit for applying for K-TET.
Examination will be held on 21.2.2026 and 23.2.2026. There will be 2 sessions on a day, with the morning session from 10 am to 12.30 pm and the afternoon session from 2 pm to 4.30 pm. The schedule of the examinations is given in the detailed notification at https://ktet.kerala.gov.in/.
For all categories, the examination will have one paper with multiple-choice questions. The maximum marks are 150. There is no negative mark for incorrect answers. Syllabus and Model questions are available at https://ktet.kerala.gov.in/.
To qualify for K-TET, an applicant must score 60% marks (90 marks). For SC/ST/OBC/OEC, it will be 55% (82) and for the PwD category, it will be 50% (75). Those who have qualified in K-TET cannot apply for K-TET in the same category.
Application: Applications can be submitted online at https://ktet.kerala.gov.in/ up to 5 pm on 7.1. 2026. The application fee also has to be paid within this time limit.
Application fee for each category is Rs.500/- (Rs.250/- for SC/ST/PWD categories). The amount can be paid online.
Those who are eligible to apply in different categories and wish to apply in more than one category should also submit only one application. However, they must pay the application fee for each of the different categories they are applying for.
K-TET is only an eligibility Test. Those getting qualified in K-TET have to satisfy the eligibility conditions for appointment as teachers and have to apply and appear for the selection process conducted by different agencies.
