The Evaluation Division, Kerala State Planning Board, Thiruvananthapuram, has invited applications for the Students Internship Programme 2025-26.

The programme aims to promote evidence-based planning and policy-oriented research among young scholars in the state.

The areas in which internships are available include: Agriculture and allied activities; Co-operatives; Decentralization and Good Governance; Demography and Care Economy; Disaster Management; Education and Knowledge Economy; Environment and Climate Change; Fiscal State of the Economy and Revenue Mobilization; Health and Nutrition; Industry, Innovation and Infrastructure; IT Tourism and Migration; Labour Employment and Skill Development; MSMEs and Entrepreneurship; Poverty and Livelihood; SCs and STs and other Marginalized Sections; Social Security and Development; Women and Child Development; Public Policy; Any other topic related to development and planning process of the State

Eligibility: Applicant must be an Indian citizen student pursuing a PhD or post-graduation (final year/semester) in a recognized university/college/institute in India.

The subject of post-graduation or PhD to be eligible for the programme includes economics, econometrics, sociology, development studies, statistics, commerce, demography, agriculture, fisheries, forestry, environmental science, social work, education, law, political science, and public policy.

Application: Applicants can apply in the prescribed proforma enclosed as Annexure-I to the Notification. A research proposal of 1500 words should be submitted along with the application. Applications without a research proposal will not be considered. A recommendation letter from the Head of the Department in the prescribed format given in Annexure-II to the Notification is also to be submitted along with the duly filled application form.

Selection will be based on the personal interview and the quality of the research proposal submitted.

The duration of the programme is 3 months.

All interns should submit the final report within the stipulated time to the State Planning Board in the prescribed format, duly signed and approved by the guide concerned. A certificate will be issued to all interns on the satisfactory completion of the programme.

On successful completion of the internship programme a consolidated sum of Rs. 24,000/- and Rs. 30,000/- will be given to the postgraduate and PhD students, respectively.
