
Thiruvananthapuram: The admission fee for MBBS course in self-financing colleges has been increased, resulting in a five percent rise in the current fee. With this, the fee for 85 percent merit seats in self-financing colleges will be ranging from Rs 7.71 lakh to 8.86 lakh. Fees have also been increased for NRI seats, comprising 15 percent of the total seats. The annual fee will be up to Rs 21.65 lakh for the NRI seats.
As the complaint against giving an amount of Rs 5 lakh as scholarship to the BPL students from the NRI fees is under consideration by the court, the fee will be reduced by Rs 5 lakhs this year. No decision has been taken regarding the hostel mess fee.
Justice (retd) K K Dinesan Committee has decided the fee.
