Kannur: Mathrubhumi Books’ popular video series 'Oru Kathayundu' has been included in the undergraduate curriculum (BA) at Kannur University, offering students an opportunity to enhance their presentation and communication skills.

By including this series, which has gained widespread attention on social media, the aim is to help students present ideas clearly and creatively. As part of the curriculum update, the university has selected the episode 'Bhoomiyile Ella Paavangaludeyum Katha', available on the 'Mathrubhumi Books' YouTube channel, for academic study.

'Oru Kathayundu' is presented by Priyaraj Govindaraj, Creative Head of Mathrubhumi’s Social Media Department. His distinctive presentation style, which combines storytelling with in-depth discussion of serious topics, is a model for students, introducing them to new methods of communication beyond traditional classroom teaching.

Kannur University’s initiative reflects a growing trend in higher education to integrate digital media and innovative content into the curriculum. Students are anticipated to benefit from Priyaraj’s engaging approach, gaining practical skills in articulation, visual communication, and audience engagement that will support future careers in media, education, and public speaking.

This inclusion marks a significant step in recognising the educational value of social media content in formal learning, bridging traditional teaching with contemporary digital storytelling techniques.
