New Delhi: The National Testing Agency (NTA) is expected to activate the result portal for the JEE Main 2026 January Session today, February 16.
Following the completion of the 10-shift examination cycle earlier this month, over 1.3 million candidates are awaiting their NTA Percentile Scores. To ensure a smooth experience during the high-traffic release, the agency has provided a specific protocol for accessing scorecards.
How to Check Your JEE Main 2026 Result
Aspirants can retrieve their digital scorecards by following these four steps:
- Visit the Official Portal: Navigate to jeemain.nta.ac.in or the secondary mirror at ntaresults.nic.in.
- Locate the Link: Under the "Candidate Activity" board, click on the link titled “JEE Main 2026 Session 1 Result / Scorecard.”
- Authentication: Enter your Application Number and Date of Birth (or Password). You must also complete the CAPTCHA/Security Pin verification.
- Download: Once the dashboard opens, click "Submit" to view your result. Download the PDF and take at least two printouts for future counselling sessions.
Normalisation & Qualifying Status
Because the exam was conducted in multiple shifts, the NTA uses a Normalisation Procedure to ensure fairness.
- The Score: Your result is a Percentile Score, not a percentage. It indicates the percentage of candidates who scored equal to or below you in that specific shift.
- JEE Advanced Eligibility: The January scorecard will indicate if you have met the preliminary cutoff to appear for JEE Advanced 2026, the gateway to the IITs.
- Session 2 Opportunity: If you are unsatisfied with your January performance, the NTA will consider the best of two scores (January and April) for your final ranking.
Caution: Due to millions of simultaneous hits, the NTA servers may experience temporary slowdowns. Candidates are advised to remain patient and avoid clicking on unofficial or third-party result links circulating on social media.
