Kochi: The Illinois Institute of Technology (Illinois Tech), United States has acquired a stake in the Kerala-based e-learning startup Entri (Entri app). It is reported that the value of the Entri app is estimated at Rs 500 crores.

Illinois Tech is one of the biggest names among the technological universities in the world. An international university taking equity stake in an Indian startup is indeed a rare occurrence.

Those who complete the coding course offered as part of the e-learning app’s placement-oriented  ‘Entri Elevate’ programme will now receive a certification from Illinois Tech, Entri founder and CEO Mohammed Hissamuddin said. This certification will be designed in a manner that it can be added to the candidate’s LinkedIn profile as a badge.

Hissamuddin refused to reveal further details regarding the deal. However, he added that such deals with universities will be introduced to other courses offered as part of ‘Entri Elevate’ as well.

Apart from coding, the app is gearing to release courses in Digital Marketing, Commerce, etc.
