ABV–Indian Institute of Information Technology and Management (IIITM) Gwalior, an Institute of National Importance under the Ministry of Education (MoE), Government of India (GoI), Morena Link Road, Gwalior, Madhya Pradesh – 474015, has invited applications for:
- Institute Post-Doctoral Fellow (IPDF) positions
- Externally Funded Post-Doctoral Fellow (EFPDF) positions
These are available in the Departments of:
- Information Technology (IT)
- Computer Science and Engineering (CSE)
- Electrical and Electronics Engineering (EE)
- Engineering Sciences (ES)
- Management Studies
At present, there are 10 IPDF positions available (2 per department).
Eligibility criteria
The applicant must be an Indian national with a PhD or equivalent doctoral degree (e.g., D.Sc.) in a relevant discipline.
A first class is required at both Bachelor’s and Master’s levels (minimum 6.5 CGPA on a 10-point scale or 60% marks).
Relaxation in CGPA/percentage will be as per GoI norms.
Candidates who have submitted their PhD thesis may apply. However, if selected, they must produce the PhD award certificate before joining.
Additional requirements
At least one degree from graduation onward, or work experience on a regular pay scale/guest faculty basis, must be from:
- Centrally Funded Technical Institutions (preferably IISc/IITs/IIITs/NITs/IIMs/ISI/IISERs), or
- A foreign university with QS rank not below 500.
- Maximum age: 35 years at the time of application submission.
- The applicant must apply within 5 years from the date of PhD award (defense date).
- Candidates who completed their PhD from ABV-IIITM Gwalior may apply after 1 year from the PhD defense viva-voce approval date.
- Minimum 3 publications in SCI/SSCI/SCIE journals, with at least one publication indexed in a Q1 journal as per the latest JCR.
Nature and duration of appointment
The IPDF appointment is temporary and full-time for a duration of 2 years.
Initially offered for 1 year, extendable up to 2 years based on performance evaluation.
Academic responsibilities
Maximum 8 hours per week, including tutorials, laboratory work, seminars, and symposia.
In addition to research, the IPDF will:
- Assist mentors in writing externally funded project proposals.
- Be eligible to co-guide B.Tech./M.Tech. students (BTP/MTP) along with the mentor, subject to approval by the DoAA based on recommendations from the mentor, HOD, and DoRC.
Research targets
Year 1: At least 1 manuscript submitted to an SCI/SSCI/SCIE indexed Q1 journal (with mentor).
Year 2: 1 paper accepted in an SCI/SSCI/SCIE indexed Q1 journal and another manuscript submitted.
Fellowship and benefits
Monthly Fellowship (based on Post-PhD experience):
Less than 1 year – ₹60,000
Less than 2 years – ₹65,000
2 years or more – ₹70,000
Additional benefits
₹30,000 per annum contingency grant (for consumables, conferences, publication charges, etc.) on mentor’s recommendation.
Institute accommodation as per rules and subject to availability.
HRA if accommodation is unavailable.
Leave as per PhD rules and regulations of the Institute.
