Thiruvananthapuram: Higher Education in Kerala is stepping into a new era with the classes for the four-year degree courses beginning on Monday.
The new and improved degree programme will begin today with the ‘Praveshnolsavam’ being held in all government and aided institutions under all universities of the state. Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan will perform at the state level at the Government College for Women, Thiruvananthapuram.
The four-year degree is part of the reforms recommended in the National Education Policy (NEP 2020). However, Kerala has tweaked the education policy in its own way without including the central recommendations of allowing students to drop courses in the first and second years and others.
